The Slingshot Man

Rufus Hussey lived near Asheboro, North Carolina, and could do things with a slingshot that nobody else could do. This video must be from the eighties, from the looks of the Pepsi cans. A television host once asked, “Rufus, I understand you can knock a quarter out of the air with that thing! Is that right?” Rufus answered, “I can hit a penny…. but when it gets that cheap, it’s time to quit!”

    This guy’s pretty inspiring for some strange reason. Makes you want to go whittle a sling shot and start plinking cans.

    (Okay it’s a theme stuck in my head.)
    Good ol’ Rufus,
    had more hits than Confucius.

    But wasn’t as sure a shot.

    Wow. That’s fantastic. You can see that he doesn’t aim, he just, apparently, moves his hands along with his line of vision without even thinking about it. Very cool. I bet there is a spiritual application there, even, if you were given to finding applications. :)
